01 / About the studio
An independent practice for the businesses that depend on their software.

Hotel Bla Bla was founded by a group of engineers who had spent years inside large technology organizations and wanted to work differently. The studio is independent, employee-led, and deliberately small enough to staff every engagement with senior practitioners.
We help businesses build reliable digital systems, improve everyday operations, and modernize the technology infrastructure that quietly runs their work. Our engagements range from focused architectural reviews to multi-year programs that replace entire legacy estates.
We are not tied to a single platform or vendor. Every technology choice is made on the merits of the problem in front of us, with a long horizon in mind. Systems we build are expected to operate for many years.
Operating principles
Independence
We answer to clients. Tooling and architecture decisions are made on merit, not partnership incentives.
Continuity
Engineers stay with their projects. We do not rotate teams or hand engagements between offices.
Calm delivery
Quiet, predictable cadences. Less theater, more working software.
Depth over breadth
We work with a focused set of technologies we know deeply, rather than chasing every trend.
Operational ownership
If we build it, we are prepared to operate it. Reliability is a first-class concern.
Honest communication
Status is reported plainly. Bad news travels as fast as good news.
How we engage
Long enough to do the work well, short enough to stay accountable.
Most engagements begin with a short discovery: a fixed-duration assessment in which we map the operational reality of the system, the constraints around it, and the outcomes the business needs.
From there, work is organized into 90-day increments. Each increment has defined deliverables, agreed exit criteria, and a clear decision point at the end. Clients can pause, expand, or close out an engagement at any increment boundary.
